Yampa Valley Players

Who Are the Players?

Yampa Valley Players have been a part of the Routt County theater scene since the early 2000s.

We strive to perform in whichever venue suits our production the best, and as such, we call the entire

Yampa Valley home. Our website is where you can explore upcoming productions, purchase tickets, and stay informed about auditions.

Read about the history of the Players and see if you'd like to join us! We'd love to have you and grow our community.

About Us

We started as The Chief Players in Steamboat Springs, CO in the early 2000s.

Our troupe performed at the Chief Theater in downtown Steamboat on Main Street until 2015 when the Chief Theater was sold to new owners.

From 2015-2021 we continued to perform while officially being known as

Friends of Yampa Valley Arts.

2021-2025 we operated being known as The Players and used facilities like

Perry-Mansfield's Julie Harris Theater to perform community theater productions.

In late 2025, The Yampa Valley Players formed as an independent community theater group.

We rebranded, created a new but similar sounding name, and a new logo.

Unlike the past, The Yampa Valley Players doesn't have a "home" but has the freedom to choose venues around Yampa Valley as it fits to the vibe of the production.
